Brian I. Connett joined the Department of Marketing in January 1990, and has taught a wide variety of courses since then.  He has served on a number of committees at the Department, College, and University level.  He has also served on the University Senate and the Tseng College of Extended learning advisory committee.  The Omega Chapter of Phi Beta Delta presented him with a meritorious service award as Chapter President for 1999/2000.  He served on the Board of Directors of the University Student Union from 1996 to 1998.  In 2001 the University Ambassadors presented him with a Polished Apple Award. He has also been a Faculty Advisor to the CSUN Chapter of the American Marketing Association, most recently in 2010.

Together with the late Dr. Joan Dahl, he developed what eventually became the College’s Gateway Course.  He was also the co-developer of the Global Supply Chain Management Major for the College.  He was appointed as the College’s first Director of Internships.

He has made numerous presentations to the local business community, including the Valley International Trade Association, The Los Angeles Transportation Club, The Citrus Belt Traffic club, and the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the National Association of Purchasing Managers (now the Institute for Supply Management).

He became the principal author and major content contributor for the third edition of the text “Sales Management,” published by Heinemann Publishers (now Pearson) in South Africa in 2010, and this text is now prescribed at the University of South Africa.  He has presented papers at a variety of academic conferences in the US and several countries overseas.  His most recent co-authored publication was in the area of Supply Chain Management risk assessment.
