Department Scholarship 2016-17

The main objective of the Marketing Department Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to worthy undergraduate students majoring in Marketing at California State University, Northridge.  The Scholarship Fund is financed principally by a request from the estate of the late James F. McRaith, a member of the Marketing faculty for thirteen years.

Selection Criteria:

1.   You must be working toward the B.S. in Marketing 

2.   You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in 1) all courses taken, 2) all courses taken at CSUN, and 3) your current marketing major

3.   You should have evidence of extra-curricular activity in marketing-related areas (e.g., American Marketing Association, ThinkLA, marketing position or marketing internship with outside firms or organizations, etc.)

4.  You must need 9 or more units to complete your degree at CSUN.

Amount of Scholarship Grant:

The size of an awarded scholarship grant will depend on the merits of the successful applicants and any special circumstances.  The Marketing Department anticipates that most awards will fall in the range of $250 to $2,500.

Number of Scholarships Available:

The actual number of scholarships awarded depends on the merit of the applications received, the number of applicants, and the available funds.

Application Procedure:

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016

You must provide a copy of your most current Degree Progress Report (DPR) to the marketing department office by the application deadline. The office is located in Juniper Hall 3119, hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Distribution of Grants:

Recipients will be notified of awards via their CSUN email address before the start of the spring 2017 semester.
