Biography

Sanjay Jain holds a PhD in Management from New York University, as well as a Post-graduate diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Bangalore University.  Prior to CSUN, he was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, San Francisco State University and Santa Clara University. He currently teaches courses in Strategy at the Nazarian College of Business and Economics.

His research interests include technology entrepreneurship, industry emergence, market construction, innovation processes in emerging economies and qualitative methods. Professor Jain has published articles in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Research Policy, Organization Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Industrial and Corporate Change and Asia-Pacific Journal of Management. He recently co-edited the Routledge Companion of Qualitative Research in Organization Studies. His research has received awards from the Academy of Management (Entrepreneurship Division) and the Western Academy of Management. His non-academic work experience includes stints with Lintas Advertising and Wipro-GE Medical Systems.
