To practice courteous behavior

1. respect each other's viewpoints
2. wait to be recognized to speak
3. don't shout (ALL CAPS)
4. don't use profanity
5. don't flame (put down someone else's ideas)

To communicate effectively, please

1. sign on using your real name as your "nick"
2. break up long thoughts into short phrases and
3. use ellipses ...  to indicate that you're not 
finished   speaking.
4. When you finish your thought,  type: Done

These procedures will help you and the consultant communicate easily and will make it easier for you to follow the discussion.   If many students visit the online space, the consultant may ask you to visit another chat channel.  In that case, the consultant will direct you to type at the bottom of the channel you're in:  /join #vws1 or 2 or 3 or 4.    That's /join followed by a space followed by #vws1 (or 2 or 3 or 4).  The number will depend on how many channels the consultant has open.
