Prep Sessions and Workshops
PREP Sessions:
These are two-and-a-half hour, one-time information and practice writing sessions for students who have never taken the exam before. Prep sessions are offered approximately 2 weeks before the actual exam. Link to schedule of important dates for times and locations.
To sign up for a 2.5-hour Upper Division Writing Proficiency Exam prep session:
- Stop by the Learning Resource Center and write your name on the sign-up sheet for a particular day and time.
- Or, call (818) 677-2033 and ask to have your name placed on the sign-up sheet for a particular session.
Be sure to mark down the day, date, and time of your appointment. If you can't keep the appointment, please call (818)677-2033 to cancel.
Workshops:
These workshops are a series of intensive writing instruction and practice sessions, totaling 8 hours, for students who have failed the exam. Workshops are offered approximately 2 weeks before the actual exam. See also schedule of important dates.
To sign up:
- Make an appointment with a writing consultant.
- (face-to-face or fax/phone) to go over your failed exam
- If the consultant determines that you should take a workshop, he or she will have you sign up for a workshop
- Be sure to mark down the day, date, and time of your appointment.
