  4. Peer Review--Rough Draft SRR #1 Due
    Note: Instructor will only review rough drafts one-on-one during an appt. you make with her

Due outside of and prior to class:

  • Extra credit with proof of attendance so schedule an appointment with the writing tutors at the Learning Resource Center. Phone: 818 677-2033

Due In Class

  • Book Analysis Portfolio revision: Must follow Port. Rev. format under Projects or don't bother!
  • Bring-SRR Essay 3 rough draft four (4) typed stapled copies bring to class to exchange w/group members. Needs to be 2 FULL pages min.
    At the back of EACH draft attach a copy of Peer Critique SRR Sheet that you have filled out first!!

Due by midnight Thursday 11/5:

  1. Email instructor directly after completing work shopping tell me where you are going from here with your paper. Answer the following?
    How are you going to approach your final draft now?
    Tell me specifically what you are going to do.
    Are you going to work with what you have? How?
    Are you going to rip it up & start over?
    Reflect on your peer group experience. Was it worthwhile?
    Did they tell you what you already knew?
    Was it helpful or not? Why? Any problems?

  3. NV: "Reaching Out" 76 Read, annotate. Bring to class 
  4. NV: "Not My America" 79 Read, annotate. Bring to class

  • SRR Essay 3 MUST follow Format for Turning In Final Draft -so review it and make sure you have ALL process documents and elements as described in your folder!
  • Blue/green book- Portfolio In Class Essay using New Voices
  • Draft & Peer review Cover Letters in groups

Furlough Day no class meeting

Make LRC appointments early to assist you in polishing essays for Final Portfolio!

 

Use your time wisely because remember you have a final portfolio to prepare for and bring in drafts for workshopping next week!

Wk 15: 12/2/09

Portfolio drafts peer review

EW: Grammar presentation faulty sentence structure 8, 263 Verbs by Blow

Portfolio Workshop - prior to class review portfolio requirements under Projects and bring any questions you may have along with copies of drafts for peer review. Refer to Book Analysis Critique & Peer Critique Sheets for comment guidelines.

Due in Class:

  1. Bring 3-4 copies of any of the following that you need peer review on, but make sure you have already done a substantial revision of:
    Revised Short Reading Response
    Revised Book Analysis
    Revised Cover Letter

Wk 16: 12/9/09

Final Portfolio Due

Portfolios Due-DURING class not after.

REMINDERS:

No late or incomplete accepted!

If you have missed ANY of the essay processes during the semester your portfolio will not be accepted.

If you did not pass the classwork portion of the course your portfolio is not eligible for acceptance.
