Program for Adult College Education (PACE)
PACE Program
The Liberal Studies PACE Program is an upper division* accelerated set of courses geared to meet the needs of the busy working adult student who wants to graduate in approximately two years with a baccalaureate degree. CSUN's PACE course of study includes evening and weekend classes offered in compressed multi-week sessions. It is possible for a PACE student to complete four classes or approximately twelve units during the semester. Some class meetings may be held online and some may be augmented by online, video, and other activities.
The Liberal Studies PACE Program is designed for students who plan to become elementary or special education teachers. Students in CSUN's Liberal Studies PACE Program will complete a wide range of upper division courses in Language Arts, Math, Humanities/Visual Performing Arts, the Sciences, Social Sciences, Physical Education, and the Child. Students will also complete a concentration in Language and Diversity. This concentration provides essential training for teachers who will encounter linguistically diverse students in their classrooms.
*Most of the upper division Pre-Credential courses are offered in a PACE format. The concentration area, EPC 315, SPED 401C, HSCI 396HS, and the ITEP-Junior Option courses (if applicable) must be taken outside of PACE.
