Financial Aid Questions
I am having financial difficulties. I may have to work more hours in order to pay my bills. Where can I go for help?
Increasing the number of hours you work may have a negative effect on your academic performance. You may want to contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office for financial assistance. You may be eligible for grants, forgivable loans, low interest student loans, or scholarships that will ease your financial difficulties. The Financial Aid and Scholarships Office is located in BH 130. They may be reached at (818) 677-4085 or visit http://www.csun.edu/finaid/.
I am a Liberal Studies major and just received a letter stating I will no longer be eligible for financial aid. Where do I go to appeal this decision?
Students who did not meet the CSU, Northridge Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy who feel their circumstances warrant an appeal should complete the Academic Advisement Form at (http://www.csun.edu/finaid/pdf/DocumentsLibrary/annual_aprap_appeal.pdf). Supporting documentation along with the completed form should be dropped off to Shelly Thompson, Director of College of Humanities, Student Services/EOP in JR 240 who will review the form and make a recommendation to the Financial Aid Office. Students will be notified by the Financial Aid Office on the status of their appeal.
