News and Announcements for Community College Advisors

.

Liberal Studies Workshop:

Transfer and CSUN students new to the major must complete a Liberal Studies Teacher Preparation Workshop on-line and apply to CSUN prior to meeting with an advisor individually. The Liberal Studies workshop provides students with a comprehensive overview of major and credentialing requirements. Students who have applied to CSUN will receive an individualized evaluation of their previous coursework two to three weeks after completing the workshop.

Questions regarding the Teacher Preparation Workshops should be directed to the Liberal Studies Office at (818) 677-3300

General Studies Option:

The Liberal Studies Program has implemented a new General Studies Option, Plan "H" effective Fall 2006. This program is designed for students interested in a broad Liberal Arts education. For an advisement form outlining the course requirements, (click here).

Liberal Studies PACE (Program for Adult College Education):

Beginning Fall 2009, the university will offer new Friday and Saturday course offerings in addition to continued evening courses. For this reason and because of the continuing low number of students enrolling in Liberal Studies PACE courses, the Liberal Studies Program will stop offering PACE-Formatted courses beyond the Fall 2009 term.
