
Vance T. Peterson
Vice President for University Advancement
California State University, Northridge
Dr. Peterson serves as President of the CSUN Foundation. As past president of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and former president of Sierra Nevada College, he brought an exceptional range of experience in higher education and university advancement to his appointment at California State University, Northridge in July 2007.
Dr. Peterson also serves as Vice President for University Advancement and oversees the departments of alumni relations, community relations, development, public relations and strategic communications, special events, and governmental affairs. In addition, he directs the university’s $50 million “Imagine the Arts” fundraising campaign to support construction of the new Valley Performing Arts Center at California State University, Northridge Foundation.
In his long and distinguished career in higher education, Dr. Peterson, a Southern California native, has also held senior advancement positions at UCLA, USC and Occidental College.
His academic background includes a B.A. in English Literature from Occidental College, an M.S. in administration from The George Washington University and a Ph.D. from Stanford University in higher education administration and policy analysis.
