Tips for Webmail Users

Please note that students and faculty have the option to select a setting within Webmail to either forward and keep a copy, or forward only. IT recommends that you keep a copy to prevent your emails from being lost.

If you would like to enable this feature or if you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact the IT Help Desk at ext 1400 or by email at helpdesk@csun.edu.

Microsoft Outlook Exchange is the email and calendar system for staff and administrators. PC users access their email and calendar using Microsoft Outlook and Mac users access email and calendar using Entourage.

PC and Mac users have the option of accessing their Exchange email using the email client interface on their computer or by using the web based version called Outlook Web Access. Outlook Web Access can be used from any on- or off-site computer for your convenience. Exchange users also have the ability to use the Exchange or Entourage email client interface remotely on any university or personal computers that have the CSUN Virtual Private Network (VPN) installed. Information about installing and using the VPN software is available on the CSUN Virtual Private Network page or you may contact the IT Help Desk for further assistance.

Both PC and Mac users can access their email and calendar online using Outlook Web Access.

Smartphone Compatibility

The University's email system enables you to send and receive campus email using a smartphone. IT reviews and tests smartphone devices every 6 months to ensure which ones are compatible with CSUN email options.

If you already have a Smartphone and need information for setting it up to access your CSUN mail and calendar, review the Smartphone Quick Start Guide or contact your local desktop support technician. If you need additional assistance you can contact the IT Help Desk.
