Our video production staff can assist faculty in the production of instructional videos either in our studio located in Oviatt Library or on location. The video production staff can assist faculty in preproduction planning and post-production editing and duplication as well as the actual video recording.

Media Conversion

We can assist faculty in converting media content from one format to another. For example, we can digitize VHS media for presentation via the web or to burn on a CD or DVD.

Streaming

By storing video content on the university’s V Drive faculty can make their video content available for streaming over the internet using the QuickTime video format.

Video Conferencing

Video conferencing can be used to connect with colleagues at other institutions. Faculty can bring experts into their classes for a video lecture or classes can interact with classrooms on other campuses.

Satellite Downlink Services

CSUN has two satellite dishes located on campus that can receive both C and Ku band satellite programs. These receive–only dishes can be used for satellite transmissions that can be broadcast over the campus cable system to classrooms and meeting rooms or recorded with the permission of the downlink provider for playback at a later time.
