Network Your Device
If you need to connect a new printer, server, networked copier or other device to the network, you will need to request an IP Address. IP address is a number that is assigned to a computer by an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to be its permanent address on the Internet. Computers and other connected devices use IP addresses to locate and talk to each other on the Internet, much the same way people use phone numbers to locate and talk to one another on the telephone
Request an IP Address
Request an IP address and name for a new printer, server , networked copier or other device by having your local technician complete an IP/DNS request form. and submit it to the IT Help Center at helpcenter@csun.edu.
Change an IP Address
If you need to change an IP address, you should submit an IP/DNS Change Request form.
Remove an IP Address
If you need to remove an IP address, you should send an email to the IT Help Center at helpcenter@csun.edu.
