2014 IT Survey Results

February 9, 2015

Preview of 2014 faculty survey results.

Each spring semester, an IT Survey is sent to all staff, faculty, and to a random sample of 10,000 students. The 2014 IT survey results are now available on the IT website. Topics included in the 2014 Survey: the CSUN mobile app; wireless network; e-texts; tablets; technology in the classroom; online forms; Moodle; technology training, and the IT Help Center.

Of the faculty respondents, 71% are satisfied with using Moodle as a teaching tool for assignments, gradebook, to link to documents or website, forum, and Turnitin. Some faculty have adopted e-texts and non-published digital content. 65% of faculty have explored methods for paper-free work submission using a variety of technology solutions. Only 35% of faculty require students to turn in paper assignments multiple times per semester. 91% of faculty own a smartphone, 93% a laptop, and 79% own a tablet.

We encourage all CSUN staff, faculty and students to review the complete survey analysis, summary of key findings, and infographics for all three surveys.
