Virus/Malware (Anti-Virus 2008 / Anti-Virus 2009)
Information Technology has been made aware of a new computer virus named AntiVirus 2008 or AntiVirus 2009. This program disguises itself as an anti-virus program and proceeds to infect a computer with other viruses/malware. So far, it doesn't appear that Symantec Anti-Virus is capable of cleaning these infections, however a free online software called "malwarebytes" appears to successfully remove the virus. If you think you have downloaded this virus, visit the Malwarebytes page at http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and download the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program by following the "Download Now!" link on the left. IT recommends that all users be careful when installing any type of antivirus program.
