Office 2008 for Mac

IT has completed its review of Microsoft Office 2008 for Macintosh, Standard Edition. The changes in the new version are minor and upgrading should have minimal impact on productivity. There are three versions of Office 2008 for Mac, Standard, Home, and Mac Special Media edition; IT will implement and support the Standard Edition because it offers Exchange support.

IT Training is currently offering an overview presentation of the new features in Office 2008 for Macintosh and a hands-on training session on using Entourage. Please visit the IT Training website for class schedules and to sign up for classes.

Minimum hardware requirements are a Mac with 1.5GB free on the hard drive running at least OS 10.4.9, with 512MB of RAM and a 500MHz Intel or PowerPC processor. For best performance it is recommended that you run OS 10.5.3 with 2GB of RAM and a 2GHz processor. For a detailed review click Office 2008 for Mac.
