Fraudulent Email Messages Sent to CSUN Email Users

Fraudulent email messages, known as "spear phishing" scams are periodically sent to a number of CSUN email users. These email messages do NOT originate from the University and should be immediately deleted without response. If you have already responded to a fraudulent email message, reset your CSUN Password, Security Question and Answer.

Password Reset Instructions

If you have responded to a fraudulent email message, take the following immediate actions to reset your CSUN Password, Security Question and

Answer. The University will never ask you to provide your CSUN Password or the answer to your security question.

  1. To reset your password, visit: https://auth.csun.edu/idm/changepwd and log in using your current user ID and password. Once logged in, you will be prompted to change your password.
  2. To reset your Security Question and Answer, visit: https://auth.csun.edu/idm/aqprov and log in using your user ID and password. Once logged in, you will be prompted to change your Security Question and Answer.

In regards, you are required to send your account information to our MAIL CONTROL UNIT for maintainance and update.
