Office 2007

Information Technology is testing Office 2007 for implementation across campus. Office 2007 has many new features and looks very different from Office 2003. It is recommended that you continue to use Office 2003 until the review process is complete and IT support is available.

Training and information is now available on the Microsoft website at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/FX100485361033.aspx.

Hands–on training and support will be available to campus users in February 2008. Check the IT Training website http://www.csun.edu/it/training/ for class schedules.

If you are using Microsoft Office 2003 you can use the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack to open and work with files created in Office 2007, files with extensions like *.docx, *.xlsx. For more information and to download the Office Compatibility Pack visit the Microsoft website downloads page at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=941b3470–3ae9–4aee–8f43–c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en.

If you have further questions, please feel to contact the Information Technology Help Desk at 1400.
