IT Announcement

Office 2007

IT has completed its review of Office 2007. Office 2007 has many new features and looks very different from Office 2003. The new look and feel of Office 2007 creates a learning curve that necessitates some training to become accustomed to the location of the tools and features you are familiar with in Office 2003. The technical support staff in each college and department should assess the appropriate time to upgrade to Office 2007. IT Training and the IT Help Center currently offer complete support for Office 2007 including: training, documentation, and Help Desk support.

Now Available

In addition to offering IT Help Center support, the Office 2007 Frequently Asked Questions, and the New Look and Feel Guide; IT is offering hands–on training for basic and intermediate functions in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access. Check the IT Training website http://www.csun.edu/it/training/ for class schedules.

If you are using Microsoft Office 2003 you can use the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack to open and work with files created in Office 2007, files with extensions like *.docx, *.xlsx. For more information, contact your local technical support team to install the Office Compatibility Pack. Additional training and information is also available on the Microsoft website: Office Online Help and How to page.

If you have questions, contact your local technical support staff or the IT Help Center at (818) 677-1400.
