Faculty Moodle Help - My students can't see my Moodle course. What do I do?
If you can see your Moodle course but your students can't, check the availability settings of your course. By default all Moodle courses are created as unavailable (invisible) to students. We set all Moodle courses as unavailable to students to allow instructors to edit their Moodle course(s) before allowing students to see them. Unavailable courses will appear as gray links on your My Courses list. When you are ready to make your course available to students, follow the instructions below:
- From the course homepage, locate the Settings block and select Edit settings.
- In the General section, change the Visible setting from Hide to Show.
- At bottom of the page, select Save Changes.
After making the course available to students, it will change from a gray link to a black link on your My Courses list.
In addition, it is recommended to change old or past semester courses to unavailable to students. By doing this, all your current courses will be black links on your My Courses list while unused courses will be gray links.
