Information Technology Governance

SOLAR and Administrative Systems Committee (SASC)

Charge/Mission:

This group has purview over University-wide systems support of all administrative, student services, and institutional management processes. It serves as the coordinating committee for the SOLAR and portal systems.

SASC will:

  • Provide leadership and coordination to improve administrative and management information and analysis
  • Create a University-wide approach to administrative technology projects
  • Serve as a coordinating and facilitating group for technology implementations that use technical analysts who are located primarily in the IT division and functional analysts who are located primarily in business units throughout the University
  • Provide advice and counsel on timing, scope, and integration of SOLAR and non-SOLAR administrative or business process projects
  • Provide input and counsel on operational and strategic information technology plans
  • Provide portal content oversight to ensure consistent, current, and accurate information is presented on our University portal pages
  • Review, prioritize and recommend SOLAR and administrative projects to the ETSC
  • Improve administrative services and practices
  • Coordinate the on-going maintenance and upgrades of SOLAR and administrative systems
  • Consult with the enrollment management committees and other business process improvement groups appointed by the Vice Presidents
