Academic Information

Language of instruction: More than 30 percent of the total number of courses offered at undergraduate program at Sogang is offered in English. 100 percent of the courses offered at the Graduate School of International Studies and most courses offered at Sogang Business School (Graduate Programs) are in English.

Korean language proficiency is not needed; many of our incoming exchange students arrive with absolutely no knowledge of Korean. We place them in our dormitory with our Korean students to fully integrate them on the campus. All exchange students can take a Korean language course at our Korean Language Education Center free of charge, which normally costs $1,500 for a 10-week course. A typical exchange student takes the Korean language course and several courses in their subjects (taught in English).

Courses are offered in the following disciplines:

Undergraduates: Business, economics, British and American language and literature, mass communication, chemistry, computer science

Graduates: International trade, international finance, international relations, East Asian studies, theology, business administration

Please visit the list of courses for additional information.

Credit and grading system: Any academic credits received during the course of the program may be transferred to CSUN as pre-approved by the academic department. Sogang University offers a grading system similar to the U.S. system of "A," "B," "C," "D" and "F." 18 units will be taken per semester.
