The International Student Mentor (ISM) program is designed to help new international students with their transition to California State University, Northridge and American culture. This program has been established to expand the cultural exchange through supporting new students and building a friendship, so that international students will be able to adjust to their new life.
Are you interested in helping new International students make CSUN feel like home? Learn more about how to become an International Student Mentor! Mentors will be required to meet with their mentees each month and attend a one-hour training session each month held by International & Exchange Student Center. They will have opportunities to learn/practice cross-cultural communication skills, leadership skills, and basic listening skills.
If you are interested in being a mentor, please fill out an application and hand deliver or mail it to the International & Exchange Student Center. If you have any further questions, or if you are a new international student who wants a mentor, please feel free to contact us.
