Project Costs:
The Valley Performing Arts Center will cost approximately $125 million:
- Approximately $75 million has been secured through state bond measures and other resources.
- $50 million will be provided through private donations.
- A working endowment will be created with additional private support.
Funding to-date:
Since the campaign’s silent phase was launched July 1, 2005, the following lead gifts have been received or pledged:
- A gift of $10 million from Cal State Northridge alumnus Mike Curb includes $5 million for the Valley Performing Arts Center and $5 million for the College of Arts, Media & Communication
- A $2 million bequest from the late Clyde Porter, San Fernando Valley arts pioneer and philanthropist, to name the Founders’ Room the Porter Pavilion
- A $1 million pledge from David and Jean Fleming to name the Grand Staircase.
Other lead gifts include commitments from:
- The Muriel Pollia Foundation to name the water feature
- The Follett Corporation
- Northern Trust, N.A. to name the VIP Gardens
- Sam and Mary Haskell to name the Orange Grove Walk
- Charles H. & Lisa Noski to name the concessions stand in the main lobby
- Ginny Mancini, widow of the late composer/conductor Henry Mancini, who were longtime Valley residents, to name the Henry Mancini Orchestra Pit
