Russian Studies

Russian Minor

The Russian Studies minor is available to students majoring in other academic fields. It includes 26 course units in Russian grammar, conversation, civilization, and history for a well-rounded, holistic study of Russian language and culture. The Russian Studies minor is ideal to complement degrees in business, linguistics, engineering, history, political science, economics, or any other field in which knowledge of Russian language and culture enriches academic depth and expands career options.

 

RUSSIAN MINOR (26 units)

Lower Division Required Courses (14 units)

1.   Elementary Russian I and II:

  • RUSS 101 (4)
  • RUSS 102 (4)

Intermediate Russian:

  • RUSS 201 (3)

6 units may be used for GE: Comparative Cultural Studies

2.   Choose one of the following:

  • Beginning Conversation  RUSS 200 (3), or
  • Intermediate Reading  RUSS 202 (3)

These courses should be taken after consultation with an advisor.

Upper Division Required Courses (12 units)
