Juan Ricardo Cole is a public intellectual, prominent blogger and essayist, and the Richard P. Mitchell Collegiate Professor of History at the University of Michigan. For three decades, he has sought to put the relationship of the West and the Muslim world in historical context. He has appeared on ABC Nightly News, Nightline, the Today Show, Charlie Rose, Anderson Cooper 360, Rachel Maddow, the Colbert Report and many more. The Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (MEIS) Program at CSUN is an interdisciplinary minor offering courses in the languages, histories, religions, cultures, sociology and politics of the Middle East.
