Compulsory Veiling (Hijab) and Stealthy Freedom in Iran

 Masih Alinejad is a prominent Iranian Journalist, renowned for her critical and courageous writings against the state repression and violation of human rights. She was compelled to leave Iran in 2009. She graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2011 with a degree in Communication, Media and Culture. Her awards include: 

  • 2015 Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy award 
  • Omid Journalism Award 
  • AIB (Association for International Broadcasting) Media Excellence Award 

She spearheaded My Stealthy Freedom page on Facebook to give voice to Iranian women who are fighting for human rights and freedom of choice.
