Professor Valerie Soe (Asian American Studies, San Francisco State University) will be discussing her work on experimental and documentary films, including The Chinese Garden about the 19th century anti‐Chinese Movement in Port Townsend, WA and her current project Love Boat: Taiwan, which explores this summer immersion program that simultaneously builds Taiwanese American identity and cultivates budding romance between youth. The event includes film screenings and Q&A with Professor Soe.
