Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco

Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco de Ernesto Molina was founded in 2003 by Ernesto Molina. Mr. Molina learned to play mariachi music from his father, Tomas Medina, in his native Ensenada, BC. After performing there and in Tijuana with local mariachi groups for several years, he moved to Los Angeles, where he played for both Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano and Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández until 2003, when he formed his own ensemble. Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco has had the distinction of being inviting to perform in major mariachi festivals throughout the nation such as the Las Vegas International Mariachi  Festival, the San Antonio Philharmonic Mariachi Festival, and the Festival del Mariachi in Phoenix Arizona, where they have shared the stage with Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán and Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández. The group has also accompanied recording artists such as Alejandro Fernandez, Marco Antonio Solis, Cristian Castro, Aída Cuevas, Jenny Rivera, Lupillo Rivera, Angeles Ochoa, Juan Valentín. Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco has released one CD: El Hijo Desobediente.
