Application Period for Fall 2016 Fee Waiver Benefit

If you are interested in taking advantage of the CSU Fee Waiver Benefit for the Fall 2016 semester, the CSU Fee Waiver Module is currently available for registration. In order to ensure timely processing, please submit your application no later than April 22, 2016 (read more). 

Faculty, Thinking of Retiring? Explore Your Benefits and the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP)

If you will be participating in the Faculty Early Retirement Program beginning 2016-2017 or are already enrolled, valuable information is available online about your benefits and pay while in the program. Please view the FERP (Faculty Early Retirement Program) and Your Benefits website.

Understanding Your Tax Sheltered Annuity 403(b) Plan

As of April 1, 2016 Fidelity Investments is the sole service provider for the California State University Tax Sheltered Annuity Program. These changes are designed to improve efficiencies and savings for participants. If you experience a work-related injury or illness, we want to make sure you are taken care of. As a reminder, you are required to immediately notify your supervisor and the campus Workers’ Compensation Specialist so we can provide you with medical care if needed.

For those administrative staff responsible for processing the appointment of Academic Personnel and Student Employees for Summer 2016, we encourage you to enroll in one of the following workshops that have been scheduled. Register for the appropriate workshop session through the CSUN Portal as described below.

Summer 2016 Student Assistant Hiring & Processing Workshops

These workshops are intended for administrative personnel responsible for hiring and processing Student Assistants for employment during Summer 2016. Neither session of this workshop will address hiring and processing of Academic Personnel.

2. Locate the Training/Professional Development pagelet and select the Employee Learning & Training Link

3. Select Instructor Led Training Sessions under Upcoming Events, and find the session you want to attend.

4. Select Enroll

After you have successfully enrolled, you will receive an email which you can use to automatically book the commitment to your calendar.

Recognition of Excellence Awards - Nominations Due, Friday, April 15, 2016

The Annual Staff Service and Recognition of Excellence Awards Event also provides us the opportunity, through the Recognition of Excellence Awards, to recognize both staff members and teams for outstanding efforts made over the course of the calendar year. Those awards are the:

·  Presidential Award

·  Award of Merit

·  Alumni Award

·  Jolene Koester Team Award, and the

·  Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award

Descriptions and eligibility criteria as well as links to the nomination forms, are currently available on the Staff Service Awards webpage.
