The Basics of Pepper Spray Defense | Dec. 4

Description: For those considering the option to carry or employ any aerosol defense spray, this workshop covers a basic understanding of: the legislative intent, criminal & civil liabilities, moral principles, regulating citizens’ possession & use of aerosol defense sprays; the chemical and mechanical properties; psychological & physiological effects; principles of aerosol defense first aid & decontamination & the principles for maintaining, storing & disposing of aerosol defense sprays. Workshop includes a hands-on demo with an inert canister.  Option to purchase a personal canister for your use at the conclusion of the workshop is $6.

Savings Plus - Intro to Investing | Dec. 6

Description: Whether you've been investing with Savings Plus for years, or have just recently enrolled, this class will help you make sense of the different investment options available to you in the state's 401(k) and 457 plans. You will be walked through the tools available to you through Savings Plus to help make investing easier.
 

By the end of this workshop you will:

  • Find out how to evaluate your own time horizon and risk tolerance
  1. Understand the difference between stocks, bonds, and short-term investments 
  • Learn about the different hands-on and hands-off approaches to investing that Savings Plus offers

Description: The Fall 2018 Faculty & Staff Series includes six home events on campus. For attending four of the six designated games, participants will receive a CSUN Under Armour Pull over or sweatshirt. CSUN Faculty and Staff members will receive complimentary admission to each game and are invited to bring up to three additional guests. All CSUN Faculty and Staff members are eligible to participate by checking in at each game using their CSUN ID. The Athletics Department will have a separate check-in area for participants at each venue in order to track attendance. Premium giveaway items may also be made available for each game, as applicable, at the Faculty & Staff Series check-in table while supplies last.
