CSUN values diversity as an essential condition for achieving institutional excellence; as such, Human Resources is dedicated to working with departments campus wide to ensure our recruitment and hiring processes draw from a wide and diverse pool.  In addition, we promote campus wide events and provide professional and personal development opportunities that advance understanding, respect, and partnering among employees and with the community they serve.

Human Resources provided training programs across campus focusing on diversity and  inclusion, including but not limited to:

Celebrating Diversity

            • Implemented and tracked compliance with Title IX (Sexual Violence Prevention) Training for all MPPs and Confidential employees.
            • Supporting Transgender Students on Campus
            • Supporting Employees with Disabilities
            • Leadership Forums on Men's and Women's Issues, and
            • Training for search committees on equitable hiring practices.

Staff Service Awards and Recognition of Excellence Awards Event

For the second year in a row at this event, the Excellence In Diversity and Inclusion Award was presented to a staff member for their commitment to promoting respect for all people.

The recipient of the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award for 2015 was Franklin Ellis (Student Housing & Conference Services).
