Academic Year 2017-2018: August 26, 2017 to May 19, 2018
Listed below are charges and payment schedules for Student Housing. You can choose either the Monthly Installment Plan or make a full payment for each semester. The fees below reflect charges for students who move in between August 26th and September 2, 2017 and stay until May 19, 2018. Charges are pro-rated for students moving in after September 2, 2017. This is an installment payment plan, not monthly rent. Students who vacate due to an approved release of license agreement will be charged on a pro-rated basis.
The first payment and verification of intent to live in Student Housing is due July 21, 2017. If you receive financial aid of $4800 or more you are required to log into your Student Housing Portal by July 21, 2017 and follow the on-line steps for verifying your Financial Aid award and confirming that you will be living on campus. Not making your first payment or not verifying on-line that you have sufficient financial aid will result in your contract being cancelled and your bedspace being given to another student.
Initial Payment: A non-refundable processing fee of $50 is due with your license agreement. The initial payment may be made on-line during the application process. Contact the Student Housing office to make special arrangements to pay by money order. The $50 processing fee is non-refundable even if the license agreement is cancelled.
Monthly Installment Plan: Charges will be posted to your CSUN Student Account, which can be viewed at your myNorthridge Portal account, and are due according to the following schedule. Payments received after the 10th of each month will accrue a late fee of $15 on the 11th day.

Family Housing in the Apartments at University Village: July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2018
The Apartments at University Village is a family housing complex of one- and two-bedroom apartments at the north end of the campus. The complex includes 56 one- and 48 two-bedroom units, each with one bath. Family housing has a community building that includes laundry facilities, mailboxes and a large recreation room available for social gatherings. An outdoor swimming pool and modern play structure are next to the community building.
Family housing is located in the block surrounded by Lassen Street, Zelzah Avenue, Devonshire Street and Lindley Avenue. The main campus is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. There are also several bus routes. Shopping and other community services are conveniently located nearby.
Each apartment features direct access from the outside, eliminating the need for noisy hallways. Kitchens are equipped with a refrigerator, a range and a garbage disposal. One-bedroom apartments include a dining bar. Two-bedroom units have a separate dining area. Bedrooms contain easily accessible large closets, and there is a separate linen closet in each unit. All apartments come unfurnished. Carpeting and window coverings are provided.
Ground floor apartments have patios, and upper-level apartments have decks. All are situated on the complex's extensive green space. There are a limited number of units designed to accommodate persons with physical disabilities. Family housing offers both partially modified units with accessible bathrooms and fully modified units with accessible bathrooms and kitchens.

Residents living in family housing are responsible for their own utilities (gas, electricity, cable, phone, etc.) and must contact the service provider directly for service. A CSUN parking permit is required at all times in the parking lots surrounding family housing and the main campus. If a tenant has more than one car, each car will need to display a parking permit. Permits can be purchased from Parking and Transportation Services. A security deposit is required for the remote control device to access the main gate to family housing's parking lot.
To be eligible for rental housing, the licensee must be a current CSUN student, faculty or staff member who meets the criteria. For eligibility regarding family housing in the Village Apartments, visit the Family Housing page and select Eligibility.
