For those new to the college, we'd like to help you find your way around!

Nine academic departments serve over 4,000 students in the College of Health and Human Development at CSUN. We offer fully accredited Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree programs and a Doctor of Physical Therapy professional degree. We are active in the community through outreach programs, centers and special faculty projects.

Just a Few Highlights:

• Our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing addresses the shortage of nurses in California. The program boasts a pass rate of over 90% on the NCLEX (nursing licensing exam).
• We're fighting childhood obesity through community fitness and nutriton programs in the Kinesiology Department and Family and Consumer Sciences.
• Through the Physical Therapy Center for Advanced Clinical Practice, we help people of all ages with injury recovery and ways to prevent injury in the first place.
• Whether the student's focus is on public or private health, graduates from programs within the Department of Health Sciences enter the professional world with confidence and expertise through programs that are founded in the liberal arts as well as the physical and behavioral sciences.
• We provide therapy to bring speech to the aphasiac following injury or stroke in the department of Communication Disorders and Sciences.
• Environmental and Occupational Health specialists visit community homes to prevent lead poisoning from lead-based paint and teach low income families how to make sure their homes are safe from toxic hazards.
• Family and Consumer Sciences' Nutrition students from the Marilyn Magaram Center visit the local Farmers Markets to share delicious sample recipes families can use to make great meals on tight budgets.
• Community organizations and corporations benefit from Recreation and Tourism Management's team building programs.
• Jumpstart programs in Child and Adolescent Development are helping children at-risk for illiteracy get books and mentorship for learning to read.
• And through the Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing, community members can learn about access to the services offered by the college.
