The Recreation and Tourism Management Department has two Centers that assist students and faculty in various academic and community service endeavors. The purpose of The Center for the Study of Leisure and Play is to facilitate scholarly projects and professional services by members of the Department of Recreation and Tourism Management, both for the professional growth of the faculty and their students, the professional community, and for the benefits of the larger community served by the University. The purpose of The California State University, Northridge Aquatic Center at Castaic Lake is to provide boating and water safety educational programs through credit, non-credit, and community service programs. Consistent with the mission and values of CSUN, the Center serves CSUN students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
