OUR DIRECTOR

Steven Loy, Ph.D. has conducted many exercise training programs for the faculty and staff at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) as well as the surrounding community. He has been an exercise physiologist in the Department of Kinesiology at CSUN (1987) and has served as the Wellness Coordinator for the Los Angeles Fire Department since 1999.

It has been because of his own starts and stops as well as watching others that he 'understands' the need to develop a program that will help people continue their 'lifetime' wellness program. It's all about setting a goal that is meaningful and that has 'community' support.  That can be a community of one or hundreds.  That's what this program is about. He says it's, "finding your Half Dome and creating a support system to get you there." Walking is one of the best exercises and when combined with some strength and flexibility exercises, this program is one that just about anyone can do.


One last but very important thing: The program must be free and simple and this one is.  You'll follow our week by week program on the CSUN Kinesiology Department website constructed by Cecile Bendavid (Computer Science) and all the information we provide you will not cost you one penny.  Too good to be true?  Try CSUN & YOU @ HALF DOME and you'll reach your Half Dome!
