ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification

The ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification is a food safety management training and certificate program.  You can read more about the ServSafe® certification here:  http://www.servsafe.com/manager/food-safety-training-and-certification

The Marilyn Magaram Center offers the ServSafe® training and exam to all CSUN students, faculty and staff as well as to the larger community.

Some food industry employers are requiring ServSafe® certification from their employees. Make yourself a more marketable candidate by taking the ServSafe® certification course through the Marilyn Magaram Center.

The cost is $120.00. This cost covers the course, course materials, exam, and exam materials.

The Marilyn Magaram Center also offers the ServSafe® certification course in Spanish (minimum five enrollees). If you wish to take the Spanish course, please select the Spanish option, under ServSafe® Course Registration below.

We are also able to provide the course in Korean.  Contact the Magaram Center directly for more information.  Please also contact the Center directly to enroll groups of three or more.

Please note: The Magaram Center can offer the 8 hours classroom instruction in English, Spanish and Korean.  The exam itself can be taken in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Canadian French and large print format.  If you require an exam language other than the language that your training course is offered in, please indicate this on the course registration page.

Community Supported Agriculture

CSUN now offers a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program to all faculty, staff and students! CSA boxes from Underwood Farms in Moorpark will be delivered to CSUN every Tuesday. Participants will be required to pick up their boxes between 3:30 and 5:30PM on the east side of the Matador Bookstore, located on Lindley Ave. and have the option to sign up for monthly, quarterly, or annual memberships!


Boxes available:

Small CSA Box
$19.00 / box

Our Small CSA Box will contain a variety of seasonal produce suitable for two-person households for about one week (or for bigger families that maybe don’t cook every day, but still want to have fresh, local produce in their diet). The Small Box may not always include fruit and is seasonally available.

Large CSA Box
$23.00 / box

The Large CSA Box consists of a large quantityand variety of seasonal vegetables, and always includes some fruit. It is usually sufficient for a family of four for one week.
