Joyce Ann Gilbert, PhD, RD, LD

Dr. Gilbert is the Director of the Marilyn Magaram Center and comes to CSUN with a strong history: She serves on the Board of Directors of the American Dietetic Association and has served in leadership roles with the ADA for nearly twenty years. Areas of specialization include strategic planning, management and nutrition in the healthcare field.
Dr. Gilbert teaches nutrition and chemistry and has done research on a variety of nutrients and their effects on the human body. She is a consultant for the Military Pentathlon Team and serves as a Lieutenant Colonel for the US Army Reserve.
She earned her PhD at the University of Florida; her MNS at Clemson University, and her Bachelor of Science at University of South Carolina.
