Marilyn Magaram Center Mission Statement

The mission of the MMC is to enhance and promote health and wellbeing through research and education in the fields of nutrition and food science.

Marilyn Magaram Center Vision

The MMC will be a recognized Center of Excellence in research and education in the fields of food science and nutrition in the global community.

Marilyn Magaram Center - Advisory Board Goals

The Marilyn Magaram Center’s Advisory Board consists of current and emeritus faculty members of the Food Science and Nutrition area of the Family and Consumer Sciences department, other CSUN faculty with expertise appropriate to the Center’s activities, representatives from the food science and nutrition industry, the Student Dietetic and Food Science Association and other individuals dedicated to the Marilyn Magaram Center’s mission. 

The Department Chair of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department and the Dean of the College of Health and Human Development appoint members to the Advisory Board, upon the recommendation of the Magaram Center’s Director and Advisory Board. 

The Advisory Board meets quarterly to discuss planning and implementation of the center's projects and goals. 

The Advisory Board also advises the Magaram Center in the Strategic Management of Center goals and mission.
