I am a senior at Cal Poly SLO and will be graduating in June with a Bachelors of Science in Applied Nutrition. I was a competitive swimmer for eight years, which lead me to pursue an education in nutrition. I aspire to complete a dietetic internship within the next year and work for a major medical center. I am very interested in medical nutrition therapy and I am currently a diet aide for a local hospital.
Kathryn Ahamed

I am a senior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and in addition to my major in Nutrition, I have a minor in Food Science. I hope to combine the 2 fields in my future job, although I am not sure what exactly I want to do yet. However, I do love to cook and I would love to teach people how to cook and eat healthy! I have previously participated in Food Science College Bowl, and I am looking forward to competing in Nutrition College Bowl this year!
Marissa Kanemaru

Marissa Kanemaru is an applied nutrition major at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and will be graduating in March 2012. As a Site Manager at Cal Poly Science through Translational Research in Diet and Exercise (STRIDE) she plans and supervises nutrition education cooking demonstrations and nutrition-outreach events in the local community. After graduation, she hopes to travel then complete a combined Masters in Nutritional Science and dietetic internship to work as a Registered Dietitian.
Anna Nakayama

I am a senior nutrition major double concentrating in applied nutrition and culinary management. I have known for several years that I wanted to pursue dietetics but since coming to Cal Poly, I realized my passion for the culinary arts. I manage Cal Poly Chocolates and traveled to cacao farms in Ghana and the Ivory Coast to see how chocolate is produced. After my trip, I started the Fair Trade Club to raise awareness of the lives of international farmers. After graduation I plan to become a Registered Dietitian and eventually pursue international nutrition.
Elizabeth O'Meara

Betsy O'Meara is a 4th year Applied Nutrition student graduating in June. She plans on attending graduate school in the fall studying Nutritional Biology. In her free time she likes to bake and hang out with her friends.
Chelsea Eismann
Junior Coach
Chelsea Eismann is currently an undergraduate student and will graduate June 2013 with a B.S. in Nutrition, applied concentration. After Graduation, Chelsea plans on starting an internship to become a Registered Dietitian. After completing her path to becoming an RD, she hopes to attend a natural cooking school in New York called the Natural Gourmet Institute or going to grad school. Long-term Career goals for Chelsea include going into private practice, working with people one onone, and helping and preventing serious disease.
Amanda Morana
Junior Coach
Amanda Morana is an Undergraduate in the DPD program at Cal Poly, SLO and minoring in Biology. Upon becoming a Registered Dietitian, she plans on getting at least a masters in Nutrition sciences. She has a concerning interest in childhood diabetes, hoping to become a Certified Diabetes Educator someday and help put an end to the malady.
