Family Studies

The Family Studies Program provides students with a strong background in individual and family development, including family interactions and communication patterns. The focus is on reciprocal relationships between individuals, families, communities and the larger society. Graduates are ready to work in professions that enhance the lives of individuals and their families.

Students may apply their newly acquired professional skills at the CHild and Family Studies Laboratory located on campus. The highly acclaimed program is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Education Programs (NAECE).

Family Services Pattern:

The Family Services Pattern is for students who wish to work in social services or other helping professions.

Childcare Administration Pattern:

The Childcare Administration Pattern is for students who desire a career in early childcare systems. This program meets requirements for certification by the State of California Department of Education, Child Development Division.
