Goals of the DPD and Outcome Measures
- The Program will increase the
percent of FCS nutrition option students who
enter and complete the Didactic Program in
Dietetics through advisement and mentoring by
faculty and staff
- Fifty
percent (50%) of the FCS pattern A
(Nutrition/Dietetics/Food Science) students
will enter the Didactic Program in Dietetics
- A
minimum of 75% of the students who begin the
DPD will complete it within 150% of the time
they expected to.
- On
a 5-point scale (5=very satisfied; 1=very
dissatisfied) the average annual rating of
students’ advisement/mentoring by faculty in
the DPD will be at least 3.0
- The Program will prepare DPD
graduates for successful entry and completion of
a dietetic internship program
- Fifty
percent (50%) of the DPD students will apply
for DIs within one year of program completion
- Thirty
three percent
(33%) of the
verified graduates of the DPD will enter DIs
within one year of completing the DPD
- Eighty
percent (80%) of the students who complete the
DPD and go on to DIs, complete those DIs
having met or exceeded the performance
expectations of the DI program directors.
- Sixty
percent (60%) of students entering the DPD as
juniors (or post-baccalaureate students) will
complete all DPD and degree requirements in
three years
- The
program will prepare graduates for entry into
food and nutrition related careers
- Over
a 5-year period, eighty percent (80%) of
DPD graduates will successfully
complete the Registration Exam upon first
administration
- Thirty
three (33%) percent of the verified graduates
of the DPD will enter food/nutrition related
careers (including additional education) not
requiring DIs within 6 months of completion of
the DPD
- Seventy-five percent (75%) of dietetic internship will rate (on a 5 point scale) the overall performance of dietetic interns from CSUN’s DPD as not less than 3 where 3 = meets expectations; 5 = greatly exceeds expectations
- Seventy –five percent (75%) of employers will rate the preparation of program graduates as good to excellent
