Linda Garcia, MA, CCLS (Pacific Oaks College)

Lecturer, Child and Adolescent Development

Linda Garcia is a Certified Child Life Specialist with a Masters Degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. Her training in the fields of Child Development and Child Life has prepared her to work in health care settings providing therapeutic interventions with traumatized, abused, chronically ill, and burn-unit children.

She is currently the Manager of the Child Life Program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Her extensive expertise is in the area of grief and mourning and working with survivors of severe and fatal family violence. She has conducted local, national, and international presentations on the topics of child life, grief and loss, cultural awareness, and family violence. She is a consultant to the ICAN/NCFSR (National Child Fatality Review) Team, Founder and Board member of CACLP (California Association of Child Life Professionals), and a member of the Child Life Council
