Wireless Network Access Guide
Wireless Internet access is offered to CSUN students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university from most campus locations.
For most users, gaining access to the CSUN wireless network can be done in three easy steps:
Quick Wireless Access Instructions
- Windows 2000, XP, and Vista Users: Double-click the wireless icon in the system tray, select "csun", and then launch a web browser to login using your CSUN Username and Password.
- Macintosh Users: Click the Airport icon from the Menu bar, select "csun", and then launch a web browser to login using your CSUN Username and Password.
- Smartphone/PDA Users: If you do not have a data service plan and your smartphone/PDA is Wi-Fi capable; select the wireless network icon on your device and select "csun", then launch a web browser and login using your CSUN Username and Password.
Detailed connection instructions are included below for Windows Vista, XP, 2000, and Macintosh OS X.
NOTE: The CSUN wireless network does not provide a secure connection to the Internet. To do anything other than basic web browsing, it is highly recommended that users first connect to the CSUN Virtual Private Network (VPN). Click www.csun.edu/it/services/vpnmain.html for instructions on how to connect to the VPN.
