Get a smart start to your academic career! Here are some things you should know about the Klotz Student Health Center.

  1. Location/Hours

    The Klotz Student Health Center is located east of the bookstore, across from NCOD. Our hours are:

    Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7:30am - 5:30pm - Appointments & Urgent Care

    Thursday 9:00am - 5:30pm - Appointments & Urgent Care

    Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm- Urgent Care Only

  2. When to Use the Klotz Student Health Center

    You may use the health center for wellness services, when you are ill or injured or when you are looking for health information. Because students pay a health fee as part of tuition; most services are free, some are low-cost.

  3. How to Make an Appointment

    You can make an appointment by calling: (818) 677-3666. Tell the scheduler why you want/need an appointment.

  4. What to Bring to Your Appointment

    Bring your student ID, your medical history, a list of any medications/supplements/herbs you are taking.

  5. Confidentiality

    Your medical records are NOT tied to your academic record. The Klotz Student Health Center will not share your medical records without your permission.

  6. Services

    Basic services are free and are provided by our doctors, nurse practitioners, health educators and specialists. Education/counseling is available for nutrition, sexual health and pregnancy, smoking cessation and other substance use. Low-cost services include: pharmacy, laboratory (some free, some low-cost), optometry services, dental services, acupuncture and massage therapy.

  7. Immunization Requirement

    Avoid a registration hold. Know the University immunization requirements that affect you and fulfill them within the timeframe given.

  8. In Case of a Medical Emergency - CALL 911

    When the Klotz Student Health Center is closed (after-hours, weekends or University holidays), medical care is available at local urgent-care centers or hospitals. Please note: Financial responsibility rests with the student. Some local recommendations include:

  9. Health Insurance is Important

    Insurance is not required or accepted at the health center. However, insurance is important for emergencies, when the health center is closed or if you require care beyond the scope of the health center. If you are interested in a low cost policy designed for students - visit the Associated Students website.

  10. Get Involved!

    Consider joining the Klotz Student Health Center Peer Education Program, CASE (Clinical Access Shadowing Program) or SHAC (Student Health Advisory Committee). Call (818) 677-6328 to learn more.
