Using Broadway-Inspired Musical to Teach Healthy Life-Choices

This week, CSUN students will assist registered dietitian and Broadway choreographer performer Helen Butleroff-Leahy to implement a Broadway-style musical at Hart and Calahan Elementary Schools in the San Fernando Valley.  The production is designed to teach children about the benefits of healthy eating and physical fitness. "MyPlate, The Food Guide Musical" is part of the Magaram Center's role in the CSUN "Let's Cook and Move in Schools!" program.   Read more

For the past two years, Mechelle Best, Chair of the Department of Recreation and Tourism Management, has arranged trips to Greece for multi-cultural groups of students where they can earn units toward graduation. Greece was selected as an ideal destination for students to get a better understanding of Western cultures. and to understand the basics of tourism and more specifically cultural heritage tourism, in a location that is widely regarded as the foundation of western civilization. Giving Back: CSUN Nursing Elevates Profession in Armenia

To elevate the nursing profession as a scientific discipline internationally, CSUN Nursing faculty Zarmine Naccashian, along with colleagues Rosine Der-Tavitian and Armine Hayrapetyan, traveled during summer to the 5th International Medical Congress of Armenia (5IMCA) in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan.
