Jeanne C. Mayer Scholarship Fund Established for A-BSN Students

Time and again, we see that nurses are at the forefront of our global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is doubtful that there is anyone who doesn’t realize the essential nature of the nursing profession by now. CSUN has been educating nurses since the 1990s, and, since 2006-07, through an intensive Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (A-BSN) program. The program leaves no time for work beyond the pursuit of the degree.  And so the Department of Nursing is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jeanne C. Mayer Endowed Scholarship fund in Nursing. Read more

JumpStart is Working Virtually for Early Childhood Literacy

Jumpstart, CSUN’s early literacy education program for children aged three through five is still going strong, thanks to a renewal of a grant from California Volunteers and AmeriCorps. Housed in the Department of Child and Adolescent Development, but open to students of all majors, the program works with Volunteers of America (VoA) and the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) to match CSUN students with children from traditionally under-served backgrounds learn to read and develop a love of reading that can last a lifetime.
