Cutler Scholarship Awards

The Cutler Scholarships recognize students who assist clients in the Center of Achievement through Adapted Physical Activity (Kinesiology). Kinesiology students Yumi Kim, Natalie Fleming and Takuto Fuji were chosen for this competitive scholarship. The selection committee recognized their demonstrated excellence in both academic and clinical performance at the Center. It is the intention of the donors to provide financial assistance to kinesiology students with outstanding clinical potential as they proceed through the adapted physical activity program. Read more

Diane Manzella to Receive Distinguished Alumni Award

Our alumni keep bridges strong between the students' academic experiences and the professions they'll enter when they graduate. Diane Manzella graduated from CSUN in 1972 and, with fellow alum Julie O. Gardner ('67), established Gardner Manzella, Inc., one of the first private speech pathology clinics in the US. Today, Diane is a member of the CSUN President's Associates and is an active member of the College of Health and Human Development Dean's Circle, helping to secure resources and engage alumni and industry professionals with the College. Athletic Training: Injury Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment

Prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation through the lifespan are the focal points for CSUN Athletic Training Students  in the classroom, labs and clinic.  The expertise they are developing will serve throughout their careers to keep athletes strong and healthy beyond the game. Shane Stecyk is the Director of the CSUN Athletic Training Program in the Department of Kinesiology.  “One of the clinical sites where our ATSs gain clinical experience is right here at CSUN in Athletics.”  The collaboration between the College of Health and Human Development and Athletics adds to the broad range of experiences students will take into the profession.
