Dr. Angulo-Barroso and her colleagues from Michigan, China and Brazil presented a research paper titled: "Iron deficiency and infant gross motor development: linked randomized controlled trials of pre- and/or postnatal iron supplementation". They found that insufficient external sources of iron during the postnatal developmental period of 1-9 months of age appear to induce delays in infant gross motor development.
