Dr. Kaitlin O'Keefe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). She earned her Ph.D. and M.P.H in epidemiology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and her B.A. in social ecology from the University of California, Irvine. Her dissertation research focused on the epidemiology of the parasitic infection, cysticercosis, in the United States, utilizing national hospitalization data. During her doctoral studies, Dr. O’Keefe conducted research at the UCLA Center for Public Health and Disasters assessing the epidemiologic capacity of local health departments and evaluating disaster preparedness collaborations between health departments and schools. Her research interests include infectious disease epidemiology and disaster preparedness.
