Dena Herman, PhD, MPH, RD. Dr. Herman received an M.P.H. and Ph.D. in Community Health Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles and an M.S. in Nutrition Sciences from the Friedrich-Wilhelms, Universitaet, Bonn, Germany. Her research interests focus on the prevention of childhood obesity taking a life course approach. She has worked with ethnically diverse population groups across the age spectrum from infancy to elderly and in both domestic and international settings. She also works clinically as a registered dietitian with children and their families in the FIT for Healthy Weight program at UCLA’s Geffen School of Medicine and is an Adjunct Professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Society of Nutrition and the American Public Health Association. She teaches FCS 402 and 408.
